Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.

The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.
Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law
It is good for me that I have afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

Volunteers Needed

The Holy Protection of the Theotokos Mission is in need of Volunteers to help with the chants of the Liturgy (chorus) at least once or twice a month. We follow the Greek style and we do the service in three languages. Spanish, English and Greek. We combine them throughout the service.

We are also in need of help in the teaching department for the children. We are a small Parish that is run by the family. So any help that we can get is a blessing from God.

The Golden Compass

What are your thoughts on how you will talk to your children about this movie? Are you aware of what is behind the meaning and what message is getting to your children? The author is an atheist and his goal is to teach children that there is no God. It will draw your attention in the beauty and fantasy of it all, but the message is troubling. Is this movie a concern to you at all? What are your thoughts?

Discriminated because of your faith?

We always think of people that are discriminated against just because they are Orthodox Christians and their faith in God, belong in other countries. They unfortunately, till this day go through unthinkable things that certainly would not be allowed in the United States. I am sure that even though you live in a land that proclaims that you are free to practice in what you believe in (as long as it isn't against the law), people still discriminate and it could be for anything. Has there been a time when you or some one you know have been discriminated against because of your faith? Just for being Orthodox Christians?

The Lost Tomb of Jesus

When I saw the Lost Tomb of Jesus, I was shocked and disturbed by the documentary. If I didn't have the faith and knowledge of our forefathers I would have been left confused and doubtful as to religion itself.
Has there been a time when you have been put into a similar situation, what helped you overcome?
