We always think of people that are discriminated against just because they are Orthodox Christians and their faith in God, belong in other countries. They unfortunately, till this day go through unthinkable things that certainly would not be allowed in the United States. I am sure that even though you live in a land that proclaims that you are free to practice in what you believe in (as long as it isn't against the law), people still discriminate and it could be for anything. Has there been a time when you or some one you know have been discriminated against because of your faith? Just for being Orthodox Christians? __________________ Ruth |

THIS IS INTERESTING BECAUSE A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO MY FATHER WAS DESCRIBING AN INCIDENT IN WHERE A STORE OWNER REFUSED TO MAKE A STAINED GLASS IMAGE OF THE MOTHER OF GOD AND JESUS. THE STORE OWNER EXPLAINED THAT HE DID NOT BELIEVE IN IDOLS AND THAT IT WAS AGAINST HIS RELIGION. AS MY FATHER RECOUNTED THE STORY TO US I COULD TELL THAT HE WAS HURT. BEFORE HE LEFT THE STORE HE PRAYED FOR THE STORE OWNER AND BLESSED HIM. I BELIEVE THAT THESE ARE MINOR OBSTACLES AND THAT THEY WILL BE OVERCOME. WE LIVE IN A PROTESTANT DOMINATED REGION SO THESE ENCOUNTERS ARE BOUND TO HAPPEN. LET US PRAY FOR THEM AND GODWILLING THEY WILL BE ENLIGHTENED BY THE HOLY TRINITY. MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST GOD BLESS YOU. __________________ lola |
